What’s your cancellation policy?
- You may cancel up to, and including, seven days before the arrival date.
If you cancel a room six or fewer days before the arrival date, we charge for one night unless we can re-book the room for all nights cancelled.
If you’ve reserved multiple rooms, there’s a charge for each room cancelled.
What’s the history of the house?
In 1912, Logan Womble, a Pittsboro businessman, built an impressive Colonial Revival house at 76 West Street. It stayed in the Womble family until the late ’50s, when it was bought by Herb and Thelma Poole. Thelma worked in a hospital across the street, and when patients came from out of town to be treated, she and Herb offered them rooms in their home. In February 2000, Mac and Karen Pullen bought the house from the Poole estate and began renovations. We added lots of bathrooms, heating and air conditioning, and over 100 gallons of paint. The B&B opened in November 2000. Since then we’ve also enclosed the back porch to make space for an office and innkeeper kitchen.
Where can I park?
There are two places to park. You may park on West Street in front of the B&B.
We also have parking out back. To get to the parking area behind the B&B, turn on Fayetteville Street (the first street west of the B&B, going away from the courthouse), then turn right onto our gravel driveway and come up behind the B&B next to the white picket fence.
When can I check in? When is check-out?
- Official check-in time is 3:00 PM or later, and official check-out time is 11:00 AM.Frequently the rooms are ready before 3:00 and you can check in earlier. It’s best to call.
It’s very helpful to let us know your approximate arrival time so that we are sure to be here to welcome you.
Our night manager Susan will greet you no matter how late you arrive.
What about keys?
We’ll give you two keys – one to your room, and one to the back door. The front door has a numeric keypad, and we’ll give you the code when you arrive.
What’s available in my room?
All rooms have a private bath with a tub-shower or a separate tub and shower. Rooms contain a flat-screen TV with cable; ceiling fan; air conditioning; a chair or two or a loveseat; an armoire or a closet; bedside tables with reading lamps.

What’s for breakfast?

The entree differs every day but some of our specialties are eggs Benedict, waffles with strawberries, sweet potato pancakes, omelets, quiches. We offer sides of vegetarian sausage and grits. What about beverages and snacks?
In the dining room we keep the cookie jar filled with homemade cookies.
In the dining room and in the second floor hall there are Keurig machines for coffee or decaf any time of day, and hot-water dispensers for tea and hot chocolate.
A small refrigerator with half&half and bottled water is in the second floor hall.
Guests are welcome to bring wine or other beverages of your choice. We can furnish ice.
I slept so well – Comphy sheets and Kingsdowne mattresses.
We get asked about our mattresses: they are made by Kingsdown just a few miles away, in Mebane NC.
Our sheets are by Comphy. They are like silk, heavenly to sleep on. They are sold retail only by B&Bs and hotels, so if you’d like to buy a set, let us know. We’ll add the cost to your bill and have it drop-shipped to you.
Our pillows and comforters are filled with synthetic materials, not down.
Do you take pets?
We have two outdoor cats. Chenille is a friendly tabby, loves attention. Velvet is all-black, more shy. They come to the back door for meals. In cold weather they have heated beds in the shed.
Our night manager Laura has a black cocker spaniel named Jackson, and two cats, Rocky and Bella. They stay in her apartment.
Do you take children?
Rosemary House is family-friendly, but we’re not child-proofed and don’t have cribs or play areas.
Who can I ask if there’s a problem?
